Its time for another Manga News Roundup. The big announcement was made recently that Sadamoto’s Eva adaptation will be resuming its run in Young Ace magazine sometime this winter. Sadamoto has been working on his manga adaptation, intermittently and with long breaks, since 1994. After a particularly long break, Sadamoto resumed work from July 2009 to January 2010, before stopping to work on the second Rebuild of Evangelion film. This allowed “Volume 12″ to at least be finished, and it was released to much fanfare this past March (it outsold the current copy of best-selling series Bleach). Even after Rebuild of Eva 2.0 was released in theaters, we heard no news on the manga for months.

The Rebuild of Evangelion 1.11 : You Are (Not) Alone English dub and script is easily the best of the year, and if you buy only thing this year, buy Eva 1.11 on Blu Ray and DVD (coming out March 9th, though *already* available for pre-order now. The returning voice actors Allison Keith-Shipp (Misato) and Spike Spencer (Shinji Ikari) gave the new career high-point performances, and the recast voices provided intriguing new interpretations of the characters.

Eva 1.01 is one of the worst DVDs ever made, and FUNimation is trying to trick us all into double-dipping and buying it this November: just wait for Eva 1.11 Blu Ray in “spring 2010,” its one of the best home videos ever made.
